Mark Blundell

The challenges we face requires people who make sense of the world in different ways. Mark does so by taking things apart and putting them back together.

His approach to life is to study, experiment and figure things out. His playground is the community at T.J.’S CYCLE in Calgary. Here he builds custom motorbikes using his background as a machinist. He applies human ingenuity and systems thinking that goes beyond textbook studies; think Zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance.

Hailing from the UK, Mark started building bikes when his friend crashed his first one. Taking a second broken bike he built one from two with no formal training in bikes. His shop is now one of the most popular places to go for repairs, used parts and care of all things motorbike related. It’s also the place to go if you simply want to hang out with people who care about bikes.

If you’re lucky you might get the tour of his shop to see some of his personal artifacts.
